Senior Finance Business Partner

• Paying $1000 + super per day
• Sydney CBD location with hybrid working flexibility
• Temp contract until 28th January 2027 with possible extensions.
• 35 hours per week, 8 hours per day

About the Role

Our client is a NSW government organisation based in the Sydney CBD. They are currently seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner.

Candidates for this role must have:

• Strong business partnering experience across varied stakeholders

• Advanced Excel capability (data analysis and template building)

• Strong financial reporting experience

• Government experience beneficial

• CPA or equivalent qualification

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• FY27 Budget Formulation: Lead the end-to-end coordination and delivery of the upcoming financial year budget.
• EOFY & Audit Readiness: Own the year-end closing processes and prepare all necessary documentation for upcoming audits.
• Month-End Execution: Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reporting under tight, fast-paced deadlines.
• Stakeholder Advising: Act as a trusted finance partner to influence and guide varied, non-finance business leaders.
• Project Financial Governance: Provide financial oversight and reporting for multiple active, fast-paced projects.
• Advanced Data Modeling: Build robust Excel templates and models to synthesize large data sets for strategic decision-making.
• Systems & Process Mastery: Rapidly learn internal ERP systems and unique deliverables to optimize reporting workflows.

About You

You will be an experienced Finance Business Partner with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Strong business partnering experience across varied stakeholders
• Advanced Excel capability (data analysis and template building)
• Strong financial reporting experience
• Government experience beneficial
• CPA or equivalent qualification
